Intimation were asked to create a brand identity for a cosmetic start-up called Torcall of Edinburgh.
The client asked for the identity to reflect their Scottish heritage with a classic, sophisticated feel. This visual identity was then applied to a range of products including their flagship product; Torcall of Edinburgh Beard Oil.

Various elements were introduced to build the final visual identity. A bespoke pattern was created from the angular, grid layout of 'New Town' in Edinburgh, the vibrant, Victorian colours of Edinbugh's oxidised copper statues and buildings, the regal crest featuring devices such as the Calton Hill Monument and the Forth rail bridge all created brand style Torcall of Edinburgh were seeking.
Bringing together all these elements was the packaging design for Torcall's beard oil bottles.
The packaging included specialty finishes such as copper foiling on the crests and spot UV gloss patterns. Special care was given to make sure the design retained a clean, classic and considered aesthetic.
The Gentleman is timeless.
Intimation also created some handy inserts to accompany the products which featured usage guides and information on how to use the beard oil.
